An On-going Process
On the Road
Evaluation is an on-going process for assessing what we do. For many of us, evaluations are especially important in communicating what we have done well and how we can improve or contribute further.
The summer months can be an opportunity to look at personnel, policies, and resources to determine what clicked and what never quite got off the ground. Looking back enables us to look ahead; it makes it possible to fine-tune programs and to consider the changes we want or need to make in order to improve.
Evaluations work best when we engage all parties involved. You can choose formal or informal processes; written or verbal communications. The key is how we respond to the suggestions and criticisms people offer. The most successful evaluations provide constructive feedback. So when starting an evaluation process, begin with prayer. Allows the Holy Spirit to inspire and guide the process so that hearts and minds can be transformed for the good of all.
