History, Mystery, and Majesty
On the Road
During Advent, we celebrate the three comings of Christ. We recall the historical birth of Jesus in Bethlehem more than 2,000 years ago. We give thanks for the mystery of the Incarnate Word present in the Sacraments today. And we prepare for the day when Christ the King will come again in majestic glory at the end of time.
We believe because the Holy Spirit has ensured that the faith of the Apostles is handed down to us through the ages. We experience the love of God through the sacramental life of the Church. And we live in hope that the Son of God will bring us home to the Father in his Kingdom.
Encounter
“The LORD, your God, is in your midst,
a warrior who gives victory;
he will rejoice over you with gladness,
he will renew you in his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing
as on a day of festival.”
Zephaniah 3:17
“He became what we are that he might make us what he is.”
Saint Athanasius
