Wind and Fire
On the Road
The celebration of Pentecost reminds us that the outpouring of the Holy Spirit changed everything for the disciples. Their fear was replaced by courage; their sadness turned to the joyful knowledge that they were not alone in their mission to make disciples of every nation.
Through wind and fire the disciples were transformed and the Church was born. Through Baptism and Confirmation, we receive our mission to evangelize and to bring others to Christ. As a member of the Church this is exactly what you do—help those whom you serve to meet Christ and to open their hearts to the work of the Holy Spirit within them. You, too, must be open to the Spirit’s presence in your life as you prepare for the coming God’s Kingdom.
Encounter
“Those who are led by the Holy Spirit have true ideas; that is why so many ignorant people are wiser than the learned. The Holy Spirit is light and strength.”
Saint John Vianney
“Do not quench the Spirit.”
1 Thessalonians 5:19
