Star Light, Star Bright
On the Road
Natural light changes during December. As the days shorten, the darkness envelopes us earlier each day. Yet, Jesus’ disciples are never truly in darkness because we are children of the true Light, the Christ.
As Christmas approaches, celebrate the life of Jesus Christ, the Light of the World, within you and in all those around you. Take time to appreciate the intimacy found in candlelight. May that candle’s flame symbolize the Holy Spirit enkindled in your heart.
Encounter
“The people who walked in darkness
have seen a great light;
those who lived in the land of deep darkness—
on them light has shined.
You have multiplied the nation,
you have increased its joy;
They rejoice before you
as with joy at the harvest,
as people exult when dividing plunder.”
p>. Isaiah 9:2-3
“Let us open our eyes to the light that comes from God.”
p>. Saint Benedict of Nursia
Go Forth
How are you a light of Christ for others?
As it grows dark late this afternoon, light a candle and pray for all those who are living in the darkness of poverty, neglect, loneliness, or sin.
