Loving Sacrifices
On the Road
The Christian practice of almsgiving takes on deeper meaning during Lent. During this sacred time, we are called to enter into the suffering, Death, and Resurrection of Christ through our earthly activity.
When we give from our essentials, not our excesses, we give through loving sacrifices. Donating from what we need, such as money and food, is a reminder of the poverty in our world and a humbling experience of our dependence upon God. The Lord calls us to be living examples of his love during this season of sacrifice.
