Being a Team Player
On the Road
Working in isolation is rarely a good thing for a Christian. There are moments when we need to be by ourselves with God, but we are not alone even in those moments. God created each of us to be in relationship with him and others.
You need the regular support of family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors. Being part of a community or team enables you see clearly God’s plan for you. Being a team player ensures that your work is part of larger goal and part of God’s plan—a goal for the betterment of society and for the salvation of the world.
Encounter
“[A]ssociate with a godly person / whom you know to be a keeper of the commandments, / who is like-minded with yourself, / and who will grieve with you if you fail. / And heed the counsel of your own heart, / for no one is more faithful to you than it is” (Sirach 37:12-13).
“Friendship is the source of the greatest pleasures, and without friends even the most agreeable pursuits become tedious” (Saint Thomas Aquinas).
